Welcome to the Black is Beautiful Researchlab, an international and interactive research platform for anybody who is involved in researching the representation and imaging of black people in art, the art of African artists and of black Diaspora artists. You can acquire knowledge on these subjects and share yours with others.

Research into these themes is still a relatively unexplored field. The BiB Researchlab wants to stimulate and facilitate this research by collecting knowledge from all over the world which will hopefully result in a new set of questions and answers.

The lab offers different kinds of information which is made accessible through the menu in the left bar. Naturally, this information is not complete and we would like to see it expand. If you have relevant contributions to the site, please mail them to simone.olsthoorn@idtv.nl.

The site also has a forum which is intended as a discussion platform and as a means of presenting calls and questions to a larger public.
